SUMMARY
The Nutrition Project Officer is responsible for the technical support, coordination, and implementation of public health promotion activities for the WASH project in Wanlaweyn district, Somalia. The Nutrition Project Officer will work closely with the Programme Director, Technical Director, and other staff to ensure that the project is implemented effectively and that its results are achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the project. This includes:
- Developing and implementing nutrition interventions, such as mass screening, referral, and treatment of acute malnutrition
- Conducting research on nutrition issues
- Staying up-to-date on the latest nutrition trends and best practices
- Coordinate the project’s public health promotion activities. This includes:
- Developing and implementing public health promotion materials, such as posters, flyers, and radio spots
- Training community members on nutrition and hygiene
- Organizing community events, such as nutrition fairs
- Monitor and evaluate the project’s progress. This includes:
- Collecting data on the project’s activities and outcomes *Analyzing data to track the project’s progress *Reporting on the project’s progress to the Programme Director and other stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. This includes:
- Working with government officials
- Working with donors
- Working with community-based organizations
- Communicate effectively with the public and with other stakeholders. This includes:
- Writing reports and articles on the project’s work
- Giving presentations on the project’s work
- Engaging with the public on social media
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, public health, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in nutrition programming
- Strong understanding of nutrition principles and practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong commitment to the project’s mission and goals.
