Report to

Nutrition Manager

SUMMARY

The Community Nutrition Worker is responsible for mobilizing and sensitizing communities on the importance of nutrition, promoting optimal infant and young child feeding practices, and supporting the uptake of therapeutic supplementary services and micronutrient powders. The Community Nutrition Worker will work closely with the Nutrition Officer, Program Manager, and other staff to ensure that the program is implemented effectively and that its results are achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Mobilize and sensitize communities on the importance of nutrition.

·        Promote optimal infant and young child feeding practices.

·        Support the uptake of therapeutic supplementary services and micronutrient powders.

·        Work with community members to identify and address nutrition-related challenges.

·        Provide education and support to families on how to improve their children’s nutrition.

·        Follow up with families to ensure that they are adhering to the recommended feeding practices.

·        Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in community mobilization or nutrition
  • Strong understanding of nutrition principles and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong commitment to the project’s mission and goals.
