Education Projects
The Somali education system faces significant challenges, including a shortage of qualified teachers, inadequate learning materials, and limited WASH facilities in schools. Gender disparity remains a critical issue, with girls facing additional barriers such as early marriage, pregnancy, and household responsibilities.
PDA is committed to improving access to quality education through teacher training, school infrastructure support, and gender-sensitive programming. Our interventions focus on ensuring equitable access to education for all children, particularly girls, by creating inclusive and sustainable learning environments.
Driving peace, fostering development, and transforming lives in Somalia.
To enhance educational opportunities, PDA supports the rehabilitation and construction of classrooms, the provision of essential learning materials, and the establishment of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities in schools.
Additionally, PDA implements programs to support education in emergency settings, ensuring that children affected by crises continue to have access to learning opportunities.
These efforts include providing safe learning spaces, psychosocial support, and tailored educational materials to meet the needs of children in challenging circumstances.
